This is It!

Welcome, to Oh Snap!  I am so excited to be able to capture the moments and memories that are so important in life.

Here is a sneak peak of who I am and what makes me tick!  My name is Michelle (thanks to the Beatles) and I am 32 years old.  I can remember not long ago when I thought 32 was old.  But, here I am still feelin' young!  I married a crazy Canadian, the love of my life and best friend, Bob 13 years ago this year.  Crazy how time flies!  We have 3 beautiful furry girls...lol..Yellow Labs.   (I hope we don't have furry kids when we decide to have a family).  Bailey is the oldest, Britney is the middle and our newest addition is Ellie Mae.  I'm sure you will see pics of them.  I'm comfortable to admit that I am "one of those crazy dog owners".

I spend my days working full time at Community First Bank.  When it's time to go play I love to ride my Yamaha 350 - especially on the Oregon Coast, taking road trips and exploring new areas, watching TV and of course playing on my Mac - oh, did I mention shopping too? lol

Come to think of it, Bailey was actually the one that started my photo craze.  Weird - what a little furry creature can do - lol!  One of the pics I took of her won 1st place and I haven't stopped taking pics since.  Looking back that was the start of taking photography seriously and loving every minute of it!  With my addiction to scrapbooking and love of art it was only natural.  I love capturing those "moments",  the ones that we don't want to forget.  That when you look back at it you can remember every detail!  After taking a photography class, being mentored by great people and learning everyday - my husband and I opened a small studio in Montana.  With a change in circumstances we had an opportunity to move to Central Oregon.  I took a couple years off but have made the decision to get back into doing what I love.  With a new found knowledge and meeting so many wonderful people I am absolutely in my "happy place"!!!

Life Is Short -- Follow Your Passions!!!

Welcome to our blog!

Hello! Helen here. Welcome to our blog where we can share with you the development of our brand new photography business.

A little bit about me....

I'm a wife and mother of 2, Cheyenne (9) and Sean (13). Jimmy and I have been married for going on 15 years. We have 4 horses (Titus, Annie, Rowdy and Koa Chee (?? Don't ask me how to spell that one, will have to ask Jimmy)). We have one donkey named Larry, two dogs (Oreo and Jacko) and a cat (Sam-Sam).

I work full time as a 9-1-1 supervisor for the city agency here and Jimmy works as a Sgt (soon to be Lt) for the same department. I've been there for 10 years now.

My passion for photography started out as a passion for digital scrapbooking. When my sister tried to get me into scrapbooking I was never interested until she told me she'd read an article in a scrap magazine about how there were people that did their scrapbooks strictly on the computer. After finding one site that was geared towards digital scrapbooking I jumped right in. My love for digital scrapbooking has continued and I've even started dabbling into some hybrid projects. With the love of scrapbooking came the love of getting the perfect photos for my scrapbook projects. Enter photography.... After starting with a point and shoot camera I soon decided that wasn't good enough and upgraded to a Nikon D70. My skills increased along with my equipment. After having issues with my photos and the camera itself I decided I wanted to switch to a Canon after playing a bit with some friends' Canon cameras while at a scrapbook retreat last October. Soon after returning home from that retreat I was the proud new owner of a Canon 5D. I LOVE my camera. I've learned so much over the last few years by way of photography and these days my scrapbooking hobby has been on hold in order to get this business, my passion, off it's feet. I hope you continue to join me on this long exciting journey of Oh Snap! Photography!!!
